Founding Team Members

Martin Perez, MD, MBA, FHM

Founder

Martin G. Perez, MD, MBA, FHM, earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Perez earned his MBA at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi with a major concentration in healthcare administration and is a Fellow in Hospital Medicine with the Society of Hospital Medicine. He has practiced outpatient medicine, inpatient medicine and telemedicine while remaining active as a hospital medicine physician for the past eighteen years.

He is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine, American Medical Association and American Telemedicine Association. Dr. Perez has a true passion for teaching and has dedicated much of his time over the past fourteen years to training hospital physicians in point-of-care ultrasound, vascular access and airway management.

His vision is to integrate efficient software and hardware technologies into today’s healthcare system while preserving the human touch.

In addition to being co-founder and CEO of MobileBiomedical, Dr. Perez is also founder and medical director of the physician staffing company House Physicians Texas.

Carlos Perez

Chief Technology Officer

Carlos Perez has actively participated in the software industry for over twenty-five years, involved with all aspects of the software development life-cycle: requirements analysis, software architecture design, detailed design, coding, integration, and testing. His background includes client/server development, n-tier development, object-oriented design and programming, real-time systems design, performance analysis, relational database development and the application of modern software engineering practices to deliver quality software systems.

Mr. Perez started his career developing embedded avionics software for the NASA Space Station and Space Shuttle spaceflight programs. In 1995, Mr. Perez switched focus to “small systems development” which included Unix minicomputer and PC microcomputer development in Python, PHP, Java, C++, and C#. His broad industry experience includes developing software for the civil, military, financial, medical, insurance, intellectual property and commercial sectors.

Mr. Perez has worked for several small start-up companies and commercial organizations such as IBM, Booz Allen Hamilton, Front Range Solutions, TAEUS International, and Pax8. He has also served as an expert witness on a patent infringement case and continues to support patent licensing programs for technology companies as a subject matter expert.

Melinda Perez, RD, LD

Dietitian Consultant & Project Advisor

Melinda B. Perez, RD, LD, is a registered dietitian who graduated from Texas A&M Kingsville with a degree in Nutrition Science. She completed her internship in clinical nutrition, food service and public health at Texas A&M Kingsville. She has worked in public health, outpatient and inpatient settings and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Ms. Perez is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Dietitians. She currently works as a dietitian consultant for MobileBiomedical on innovative technologies that assess patient malnutrition.
